QDAF Commercial Supply Chain

Funded by Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (QDAF)

Development of a commercial supply chain for Australian grown sesame — QDAF funded project to ASIDA.

The QDAF Commercial Supply Chain project is funded by the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (QDAF) and delivered through ASIDA. Its primary purpose is to develop a robust and scalable commercial supply chain for Australian-grown sesame.

Project Objectives

  • Map and analyse the existing sesame supply chain in Australia, identifying gaps and opportunities
  • Develop relationships between producers, processors, traders and buyers to establish a functional commercial supply chain
  • Establish quality standards and protocols that meet domestic and international market requirements
  • Create infrastructure and logistics frameworks that support the growth of Australian sesame production and export

Expected Outcomes

The project aims to establish the foundations for a commercially viable sesame supply chain in Australia — enabling growers to reliably access markets and buyers to source high-quality Australian sesame at scale.
